About

A gratitude app that gives you your mornings back

Gratia is made in Scotland by one person who wanted to start the day with what's good, before the phone got a say.

Why I built it

It's frighteningly easy to sleepwalk through life

You wake up, reach for your phone and start scrolling without even thinking. Before you’ve stepped out of bed, you’re already caught up in someone else’s life: their morning, their opinions, their achievements. Your own day hasn’t even begun, yet someone else already owns your attention.

Then the working day takes over: the commute, the emails, the phone calls, the same desk and the never-ending list of things to do. You can be busy from morning to night without ever feeling truly present for any of it. With so much competing for your attention, it becomes even harder to notice the small moments that make your life feel like your own.

Practising gratitude helped me take that attention back. It made me notice the first sip of coffee, the birds on the walk to work, or the moment someone properly laughs. Nothing dramatic, just the small things that bring colour back into an ordinary day.

That’s why I built Gratia: three things you’re grateful for before the white noise takes over. Then the day is yours.

The mission

Help people notice what's good, before anything else gets a say

Gratia is for people who want their mornings to feel more like their own, not another loud app asking for more attention. It should be simple, personal, and genuinely useful from the first day you open it.

So it does one small thing well. Three things you're grateful for each morning, and your social apps wait until you've written them. Once a month, Saga reads your mornings back to you, so you can see what actually makes your days good. Then you put the phone down and get on with your life.

Our promise

What you write is yours

  • No ads, ever. We don't use advertising trackers and we never sell your data.
  • Your entries are encrypted on your phone. We store only the encrypted version, and we never read them, sell them or use them for ads.
  • We can't see your apps. Apple only gives Gratia anonymous tokens for the apps you shut, never which ones or how long you use them.
  • Saga only reads when you ask. It asks for your consent first, and you can switch it off at any time.
